I grew up about an hour outside of Montreal, on a small horse-farm. During my undergrad at McGill, I was fortunate to have the chance to do research in Professor Taylor's lab, where I became interested in understanding how cues from the outside world may influence our ability to control our behavior.
I am now beginning my masters in psychology, and am interested in exploring what factors may collectively influence a group's ability to self-control, and the effect that one's collective identity may have on one's capacity to regulate his/her behavior. Specifically I want to explore collective or group goals and find out what exactly is a collective goal, how are these formed in groups, and how the perceptions of these goals by group members influence them pursuing these goals.
