At the end of my PhD, which has been particularly pleasant but rather (if not too much) demanding, I decided to make one of my old dreams come true: to live in the Canadian woods. This led me to do a post-doctorate degree under the supervision of one heck of a man: Don Taylor. Those two years have given me the opportunity to work on new topics such as cultural identity, delinquency, genocide as well as intergroup relations in South Africa, and all this in a great atmosphere. It has also allowed me to live the retreat I dreamed of in a far corner of the Laurentides (i.e., Ste-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson) with my partner, Virginie. Taking long walks, watching the otters, beavers and moose was a true pleasure. I know today that this retreat has brought me a lot professionally, but also personally. Happiness being the focus of my present research, I know that those two years in Canada have been the inspiration.
Update: Michaël is now faculty member at the Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Ferrand, France).
