I am currently in my first year of Honours (U2) at McGill University. As my first research experience, I am glad to be working with Régine Debrosse on the mechanisms through which minority group youths fail to attain the goals they set for themselves. It's very exciting to be researching something which may very well one day have an impact on the lives of these youths, which is part of why I'm so interested in Social Psychology. The research also ties in to my desire to understand the systems underlying human behaviour, particularly those which give us the impression that we're fully in control of our actions, when, in fact, other forces conspire to influence or even produce those reactions in us outside of our conscious awareness.
